Vegan French Toast

This quick and easy french toast is simple and a perfect recipe for breakfast for one.


Ingredients (makes three pieces):

Three slices of sourdough bread

1 1/2 tablespoons of vegan butter

1/2 cup of oat milk (or other non-dairy milk of choice)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Orange or lemon zest, to garnish

Maple syrup, to serve

Heat a medium pan on medium heat, and melt the vegan butter. Place the pieces of sourdough on the pan. Pour the oat milk over the bread until all of it is moistened, using more milk as needed. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top. Cook until the remaining milk is evaporated from the pan, and the bottom of the bread is golden brown. Flip the french toast, and continue to cook them until both sides are thoroughly cooked through and golden brown. Place them on a plate, and sprinkle the lemon or orange zest on top. I sprinkled mine with flax, chia, and hemp seeds along with almonds to add an extra power food boost. Drizzle with maple syrup and enjoy!
